The weight of your family´s legacy
Oh my gosh this is amazing. I want it as an illustration in the book! I am in awe.
He’s so cute with his hair and his T-shirt and his bloody hands! The house on the hill surrounded by trees looks like it’s from a old-school Gothic cover! The blood it comes down like a river onto his hands! They could have a blood moat at Aurimere! Yaaaaas.
I’m sorry. I’m such an unacceptable author. This should be a graceful and insightful expression of how artistic and insightful I found this art to be!
what a beautiful day to not be in high school

"I don’t care if Mike Brown was going to college soon. This should not matter. We should not have to prove Mike Brown was worthy of living. We should not have to account for the ways in which he is suitably respectable. We should not have to prove that his body did not deserve to be riddled with bullets. His community should not have to silence their anger so they won’t be accused of rioting, so they won’t become targets too.
It should not matter if Mike Brown was a good boy but I have no doubt that he was. His life mattered, no matter how he chose to live it. He had family and friends who must mourn him and who must now worry about who will be murdered next. Every life matters. There are few things I believe more passionately. Unfortunately, we live in a country where your worth and safety are largely determined by the color of your skin."
i think in body positivity rhetoric there’s a lot about exposing your most vulnerable self— the parts of yourself you are most insecure about should be the parts a “true” photograph of your will feature. in fact, when you look in the mirror or take a photo of yourself in a “flattering” pose, it’s important to remember that that is not a lie or an obfuscation. bodies are flexible and changing by nature. any pose, arrangement, or flexing of muscles is as “true” a picture of yourself as any other. while of course there is nothing ugly about your body and working to stop negative internal talk about features of yourself is important, do not begin negative self talk because you like how you look more in a certain pose than in another. you’re not a failure because you find some parts of yourself more difficult to like than others. you are not the most beautiful when you are exposing your insecurities; you are always the most beautiful. there is no image of yourself that is more true than another.
